Insight Manager - Singapore office
Who we are
Kadence Singapore is an insight agency with a reputation for delivering customised research projects demonstrating world-class research, marketing, and business thinking. Our client base includes many of the world’s top multinational businesses across a variety of industries, from finance to FMCG to F&B. We have been awarded Consultancy of the Year and Market Research Agency of the Year again in 2021, a testament to our commitment to raising the impact of market research in the region.
We have a can-do attitude and are committed to getting the most out of our research to produce actionable output for our clients. We achieve this through teamwork, energy, and enthusiasm. We would love to hear from you if you are passionate about business issues and market research!
What you will be doing
As an Insight Manager, you will lead and drive the execution of bespoke research studies across various industries and methodologies, ensuring our research significantly impacts our clients’ businesses —no matter the topic or business issue. One day, you might be moderating face-to-face focus groups about gaming behaviours, and the next day, you might analyze responses from a multi-market online community to test potential product innovations in a beverage category.
While the role would focus on quantitative research, many of our projects are multimethodology, so a working knowledge of conducting qualitative research would be beneficial. Depending on the candidate’s skill set and career goals, this role could include quantitative and qualitative primary research.
More specifically, the role will involve:
Research Design
- Collaborating with project team members and clients to understand all research objectives and appropriate methodologies and analyses required to meet these.
- Leading the design of research instruments, e.g., discussion guides.
- Using your experience to highlight techniques that should be used and implications for the client.
- problem-solving skills using an analytical mindset and practical experience with various quantitative research methodologies.
Qualitative Fieldwork
Moderating online and offline fieldwork, including focus groups, IDIs, ethnography, and online communities with diverse consumer and B2B audiences.
Project and Client Management
- Guiding junior insight researchers and collaborating with project managers for the smooth running of projects;
- Providing clear communication with client stakeholders and other members of the team.
- Managing client expectations effectively and positioning yourself as an ‘account expert’ with full knowledge of all projects Kadence has done for this client.
Data Analysis and Reporting
- Leading debriefing and synthesis of fieldwork findings.
- Collaborating with junior researchers and our experienced senior directors to lead analysis and ‘sweat the data’ to uncover the true answer.
- Working extensively with PowerPoint to bring insights and strategic recommendations to life.
- Conducting client presentations to senior audiences.
Team Management: Responsibility for the wellbeing and mentoring of junior researchers, line management, and pastoral care. Passion for self-directed learning to develop your skills and to mentor and develop the skills of colleagues.
Business Development: Getting involved in internal research design and costing discussions. Understanding our value proposition and ensuring it is carried out by juniors.
We value learning and development, and you will receive full training on all aspects of the job to propel you in your career.
What we are looking for
- 5-7 years of experience with ad-hoc primary quantitative/ qualitative research, preferably from an agency-side role
- Experience working with a wide variety of quantitative/qualitative research methods (traditional and digital)
- Ability to advise on correct methodology depending on project objectives, write discussion guides, and create insightful and actionable reports
- Able to coordinate many different projects at once, ensuring they meet time and budget requirements
- Strong management/ supervisory skills, including project delegation, time management, day-to-day feedback on performance, conduct performance reviews; experience in line management specifically would be beneficial.
- Individuals with a degree involving market research, marketing, psychology, sociology, or a related field
- In addition, the winning candidate will be curious, collaborative, and communicative.
