Case Study: Antibiotics U&A
Audience and Methodology: 42 in-depth interviews with Healthcare professionals (surgeons / pulmonologists / microbiologists) working within Indonesia.
Background and Objectives:
How can we move our drug from last line therapy to first
line therapy?
Our client, the manufacturer of a potent broad spectrum antibiotic used in speciality care, wanted to reposition its product from a last line therapy to a first line therapy.
Kadence was commissioned to help understand the most common infections treated, the treatment choice behaviour, plus barriers and motivators to prescribe antibiotics for patients.
Insights:
- Kadence found that the client's product enjoyed the highest awareness and the best performance on almost all choice drivers among antibiotics given for speciality care treatment
- Kadence was able to identify that the client's product, perceived as the most potent drug, was very likely to be given as first line therapy for the two most common diseases, while for the 3rd doctors, had a tendency to follow an escalation therapy
- Opportunities to grow the drug's market share existed were clearly identified
